Ansul installed at MacDonalds Hotel

Ansul Kitchen Fire Suppression was chosen to protect the kitchen facility at the Mac Donald Hotel, Old England, situated on the shore of Lake Windermere, one of the most scenic lakes in England.

Draper Ltd Fire & Security, based in Kendal was the Approved installer for the supply and Installation of the Ansul Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems, which is the Brand leader and preferred system for the majority of  professional commercial  kitchens . Before design and installation can take place, the kitchen is risk assessed for the type and number of varied appliance and from this assessment and layout of appliances, a detailed calculation can be arrived at for the number of extinguishing heads and the overall size of the cylinders required to achieve complete coverage and run time of the system.

The Ansul R-102 Fire Suppression System incorporates a flexible design with an extremely low pH liquid called  ANSULEX. ANSULEX quickly overwhelms flames and cools hot surfaces, while developing a strong vapor securing film that helps inhibit re-flash.The R-102 system is also designed to help protect areas with ventilating equipment; hoods, ducts, plenums, and ventilation filters. It also protects grease extraction equipment and cooking equipment such as  fryers, griddles, range tops, broilers, char-broilers and woks. This system is ideal suited for commercial kitchens in fast food chains, retail food courts, small hotels, catering facilities, mobile food trucks, hotels and casinos, stadiums, schools, hospitals .

The picture opposite shows the range of control equipment monitoring and controlling the Kitchen Extraction System inc, Gas Monitoring Panel / Fan Inverte / Exhaust Fans Controls / Fire Alarm Interface (Addressable)  from the  Ansul system onto  the main building fire alarm system and also the Fan Exhaust / Gas control operating  the hood extraction, all the control gear including inverters all configured and wired by Draper Ltd electrical, as part of a major refit and upgrade of the Main Hotel Kitchen, undertaken by Build Zone on behalf of Mac Donalds Hotel Group.

Ansul Stainless Steel cabinets sited within the kitchen area, holding the Ansul R-102 Ansulex filed cylinders, operated from Manual Call Points (MCP) strategically positioned at exit points from the kitchen cooking area.
